Ocean Room

Ocean Rooms are bright and airy, with floor-to-ceiling glass doors opening onto a private balcony with an ocean view. Comfortable and well appointed, each room has a sitting area with a futon that can be made into an additional bed. A limited number of two bedroom ocean view suites are available for larger parties, please inquire. All rooms have en-suite bathrooms with natural bath amenities. Rooms are on high floors and require steps to climb.

We have added the cost-savings option for three people to share Ocean or Garden rooms. One guest will sleep on the futon.

GARDEN ROOM

Garden Rooms are either crafted in a Mexican style, with natural rock walls and hand painted mosaics; or with an airy Mediterranean feel with floor-to-ceiling windows that let in plenty of natural light and fresh breeze. Each room has a spacious en-suite bathroom with natural bath amenities. Located on the ground floor, they are easily accessed with either a few steps or a ramp, and are appropriate for anyone with mobility issues.

Guest Room

Guest Rooms are decorated in bright and cheerful Mexican textiles and colors, providing a cozy and well appointed option for those seeking simplicity and comfort. All rooms have en-suite bathrooms with natural bath amenities. Rooms are located on both ground level and third floors, either jungle or garden facing.

Guest loft rooms are a simple yet spacious option for families or 3 to 4 roommates in a dorm configuration. The bottom level has a king bed or two twins and a bathroom; the loft is accessed by a spiral staircase and has two twin beds. Some rooms feature an additional futon bed on the bottom level. Rooms are either facing the gardens or jungle. The loft is not recommended for children under 5 yrs old or people with mobility issues.
*Minimum occupancy is 3 people (including children).

Mar de Jade Cancellation Policy - No Exceptions

We’re thrilled you’re joining us for our retreat at Mar de Jade, a beautiful, family-run retreat

center in Chacala, Mexico. Mar de Jade has been welcoming retreat groups for decades and

reinvests its earnings into important community initiatives, including a free Waldorf-inspired

school and a local trade school.

Because they are a small, independent retreat center with a short operational season, they

maintain a strict cancellation policy with no exceptions. This ensures fairness to all guests and

allows them to continue supporting their staff and community, regardless of last-minute changes.

If you are concerned about the possibility of needing to cancel for any reason—including

illness, flight issues, family emergencies, or personal changes—we strongly encourage you to

purchase travel insurance that covers retreat cancellations.

Retreat hosts pay for and manage your stay months in advance, and incur costs related to their retreat event. The non-refundable deposit helps small wellness-related businesses cover their financial risk related to cancellations.

REFUNDS

Credits

No Credits or Refunds for

• 60 days or more before arrival:

• Mar de Jade Policy: Full refund minus a $250 administrative fee per person.

• TrueMoveStudio Policy: will issue the remaining Mar de Jade refund minus the TrueMove Studio $500 non-refundable deposit, which may be applied towards a future TrueMove Studio event

• Fewer than 60 days before arrival: No refunds for any reason.

• 14 days or more before arrival: Full Mar de Jade credit of your deposit, valid for 18 months, with

no cancellation fee.

• Less than 14 days before arrival: No credit, except under approved extenuating

circumstances (see below).

• Once a credit is accepted, it cannot be exchanged for a refund at a later date.

• Credits are non-transferable and apply only to the original guest.

• TrueMove Studio Policy: $250 of the $500 non-refundable deposit may be applied too a later TrueMove Studio event.

Extenuating Circumstances

A personal credit, valid for 18 months, may be granted if you cancel less than 14 days before

arrival due to one of the following:

• A positive COVID-19 PCR test (lab-confirmed)

• A serious medical emergency

• A death in the immediate family

• TrueMove Studio: Policy $250 of the $500 non-refundable deposit may be applied to a later TrueMove Studio event

You must provide official documentation (e.g., test results or a doctor’s note confirming

contagious illness or emergency) in order to receive the credit.

SHARED ROOMS

Room rates are based on occupancy. If your roommate cancels:

• Their cancellation fee will first be applied to cover the increased rate for you.

• If the cancellation fee does not fully cover the rate difference and no replacement is

found, you are responsible for the additional cost.

• We recommend booking shared rooms only with people you know and trust, and

purchasing insurance in case of unexpected changes.

OPTIONAL DONATION

If you’re unable to attend and would like to donate your deposit to support our nonprofit

projects—El Jardín School and Tao de Jade Trade School—we would be honored. Your

generosity helps provide free education and vocational training to youth in our local community.
